Course Description

This course aims to provide students with a basic understanding of statistical analysis for policy research/assessment, both theoretical and applied, through the use of statistical software.

Pedagogical format

At the end of the course, the student is expected to : 1°) Access to new ways of thinking (making questions) and effective tools for answering them. 2°) Make you a more critical consumer of statistical presentations in the mass media. 3°) Acquire a new vocabulary (is like learning a foreign language), and you will learn to manipulate numbers according to symbolic instructions.

Course validation

To validate the course, the student is expected to pass the following assignments (at least three grades): 1°) Final exam (30). 2°) Midterm exam (30%). 3°) One project (30%). 4°) Active/relevant participation (10%).
