Course Description

The environment policy has become an important challenge for all the States, and a coordinate and common action was found necessary. Environment policies are very recent, they were adopted at the end of the 60's and in the 70's at the national, European and international levels. The aim is to control the impact of the technical, economic or scientific development on the nature and the human being. Concretely, it aims at the reduction of risks and the prevention of all forms of pollution or destruction of biodiversity. That's why some ground principles were declared such as the precautionary principle, the polluter-pays principle or the access to information principle, but the main issue of environmental law is to find an effective way to implement an efficient environment policy.
