Course Description

2014 projects were accepted as part of a ‘Rencontres Henri Langlois' competition, where screenplays were analysed by industry professionals. ‘Such a student film' said the Jury. This year's session will open by considering what this comment implied! As films reflect the personalities involved in their creation this course content is indicative - the actual course will be created with the new groups' objectives in mind. Phase 1: Exploration of screenwriting skills: documentary, fiction and journalistic styles. Students will analyze texts, develop their writing skills. They will record and analyze personal work and collaborate to devise strategies to improve individual writing styles. Phase 2: Students split into working groups and create a screenplay for a short film (of about 3 to 10 mins) which is then cast, rehearsed, filmed, edited and screened. Develops IELTS reading, writing and speaking skills.
