Course Description

When a legal relationship has international character, it is necessary to select which law is applicable and in which courts suits may be brought. Also, it is necessary to ascertain to what extent a court decision or an arbitral award may be recognized and enforced abroad. This course covers essential principles relating to choice of law, international jurisdiction, and free movement of judgments. It is designed to provide students with the complex tools and skills needed to understand and act within an increasingly transnational legal environment.
