There is no prerequisite for this class. It is addressed to student with no background in accountancy and finance.

Course Description

The course aims at providing an appropriate grasp of the basic tools of accountancy & finance. Although this class is addressed to students with no prior background in finance, it will contribute to develop valuable skills required to practice business law. At the end of the course, the student shall be familiar with financial statement such as P&L and main key financial ratios in order to appreciate the financial and strategic situation of a company.

Pedagogical format

Oral presentations, case studies, press review. The quality of the formalization of both oral and written exercises will be considered as a key issue.

Course validation

Students will get a grade both for : - Two quizzes of 10 minutes (20%); - Participation and student attendance (10%); - The final exam (3 hours) will account for 70% of the final grade.


The course will require a strong involvement of the students both in terms of preparation and learning capacity.
