Course Description
Foreign Policy and Diplomacy: Current Dynamics is a course designed to develop students capacities to analyze states foreign policy and the dynamic of international relations. Through the discussion of present world events and its geopolitical impacts we try to promote the understanding of foreign policy action, the dynamics of world power relations and the functioning of the international system. We study particularly the globalization process and its disruptive economic, social, political and geopolitical effects, focusing the specific interaction between global markets and political powers. Finally, the course questions the new responsibilities of foreign policy and diplomacy to preserve the stability of the world system and the future of the global community.

Pedagogical format
Please note that the course will be a LECTURE instead of a Seminar.
Course validation
Assiduity and students participation in classes ( 20% ) A mid-term exercise ( 40% ). End of March. Students are asked to comment some news. individual or group final paper ( 40% ). Research on a topic previously accepted.
