Course Description

Introduction to Energy. Introduction to the Politics and Economics of International Energy : overview of the main economical and geopolitical issues of the energy business
General historical, economical and political aspects of energy: history of energy. organisation of the energy industry. The Upstream Oil Business: general aspects. Energy markets and prices. Oil, gas, uranium: exploration and production of non-renewable energy resources. Oil, gas, uranium: non-renewable energy resources and development issues. The Downtream Oil Industry. The Natural Gas Business: is natural gas a bridge to the future? The Electricity Business : the impact of regulation/deregulation of the electricity business. Nuclear and Renewables : The future of nuclear, the impact of renewables
