Course Description

Our energy system faces multiple pressures: population growth, resource depletion, climate change, environmental degradation. At the same time, technology revolution brings the opportunity to reshape our system and meet the challenges of energy transition. However, energy transition cannot be a pure technological move. The whole system is affected and the whole system has to be redesigned at both a global and local level, considering all its dimensions (politics, strategy, economy). The goal of this course is to describe what is at stake in this energy transition process, how its dynamic works and what the options for the future are. This analysis will be handled at both a global and local level from concepts and high level strategical stakes to local challenges, regulations, adaptations.
