Basics of strategy consulting

Course Description

The course aims at providing to the students all the relevant knowledge to solve strategic consulting cases. This will be done through series of case studies concerning various industries and various topics such as restructuring, marketing, finance, market entry, product launch, cost reduction, sales up etc. Each case will be based on real situations and the students will be guided to solve one specific problem at Excom level. The last 2 sessions (# 11 and # 12) will be dedicated to the preparation of interviews in the consulting industries.

Pedagogical format

Course should be highly interactive aiming at guiding students to the best solutions on specific cases. Some preparation between courses will be asked in order to gain time and focus on problem solving.

Course validation

Validation of the course will depend on: Participation during the lesson (20%); Press Review on specific topic (written report, oral presentation and Q&A) (30%); Case study preparation focusing on one specific industry sector or one specific firm (written report and oral presentation) (50%).
