Keen interest in technology, in the way they model our society, our economy, our identity, politics and geopolitics.

Course Description

During this one semester course, you will familiarize with the way the internet is radically changing key elements of our society. You will understand how Free Software has built today's internet and how crypto economy (bitcoin & blockchain) could reshape tomorow's trustless world. You will discover how information warfare takes place on a daily basis on the internet and how it can affect corporations and political establishments, how personal (and big) data has led to Trump's election and the Brexit, while reshaping geopolitics. Also, you will discover the way Anonymous was born, and how it became a form of political opposition, shaping future forms of political dissent. In a nutshell, you will gain a deeper understanding of both the dark side of technologies and its utopias powering today's internet.

Course validation

Twelve courses, mixing lectures and flipped classroom, based on newspaper reports and investigation. Evaluation will be done based on class participation and a written prospective report on blockchain and digital transformation.
