Course Description

Will the revolution be digitized ? Politics is not immune to the digital shift. Since the early 00s, the successive waves of digital innovation in communication and marketing - websites, forums, CRM platforms, social medias, messaging applications ... - have changed the ways of getting (re)elected. In the meantime, and despite pessimistic forecasts, "classic" medias are still effective, creating a complex environment where it can be difficult to build an operative communication strategy. Tweet or TV ? Selfie or handshake ? How to make the best of the new communication landscape without getting fooled by digital myths and false promises ? The objective of this course is to explore the "grammar" of digital political communication : its tools, best practices, most iconic moments, and issues.
