OMKG 2820 - Sustainable fashion

Type d'enseignement : Workshop

Semester : Autumn 2018-2019

Number of hours : 12

Language of tuition : English

Course Description

A global industry worth $2.4 trillion and employing around 50 million people, fashion is also said to be the second most polluting after oil. Evidence of climate change acceleration, dramatic events like the Rana Plaza 2011 collapse (revealing the darker side of fast fashion) and consumer demand for increased responsibility and transparency from brands and retailers are pushing the industry to react. While pioneers from various sectors such as Stella McCartney or Patagonia's Yvon Chouinard are showing the way, sales of collaborative consumption continue to grow. This course presents participants with strategical and practical keys to understand the future of fashion — from an industry key player, start-up or entrepreurial standpoint — and learn how to make a tangible impact. "Sustainability is everyone's business. We believe in it not only because it is the right thing to do, but because sustainable business is smart business." (François-Henri Pinault, CEO, Kering Group)

STERVINOU, Anna (Directrice artistique)
