Course Description

The objective of this course is to see how practices coming from the private sector (management, strategy, marketing, finance, HR Organisation,) are being translated and adopted by the public sector. And how the public sector influences the private one to trigger its contribution to the common good. Why this angle? 1 The recent Law PACTE in France, and its equivalent in other countries, shows that the porosity between private and public sectors is increasing 2 To be able to influence the private sectors in terms of contribution to the common good, it is important to have an understanding of how it works and understand its basics 3 Many Leaders of the Public sphere have experienced the private sector and are implementing some of its practices. The VUCA world means adaptation and agility, and it can be useful to envisage the best of two worlds. 4 The quest for Purpose (Purposeful companies) is changing the way private and public sector cooperate 5 Last but not least, many students, after sciences po, will join the private sector. Understanding the basics of how a private company works can be an added value
