Between the ages of 16 and 19: Born between 01/09/98 and 31/08/2002 If your parent is covered by the general social security regime, joining the student social security regime is Obligatory and free.

Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po", indicate the reason "covered by French National healthcare", and choose a reimbursement center (LMDE or SMEREP).

Between the ages of 20 and 28: Born between 01/09/89 and 31/08/98 If your parent is covered by the general social security regime: joining the student social security regime is Obligatory and You must pay contributions.
  • Check the box entitled "I pay contributions via Sciences Po" and choose a reimbursement center (LMDE or SMEREP).
Over the age of 28: Born before 31/08/89

It is no longer possible for you to join the student social security regime.

Students over the age of 28 are no longer covered by the student social security regime. They must inquire at the Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie for their place of residence to learn more about their coverage.
  • Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po" and indicate the reason "over the age of 28".
  • Provide an "attestation of social security coverage" by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.
Extension of coverage for students who begin doctoral studies before their 28th birthday. Coverage may not extend beyond the student's 32nd birthday. Joining the student social security regime is Obligatory and You must pay contributions.

Students covered by a special regime

Your parents are covered by the independent professions health insurance regime (tradesperson, shopkeeper, small-business owner, liberal profession) or a special regime (EDF-GDF, RATP, Mines, Military, Notaire clerks and employees, Paris Chamber of Commerce, Caisse des Cultes, Senate) or are international civil servants: You do not join the student social security regime and you do not pay contributions, subject to proper documentation of your situation.

  • Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po" and indicate the reason "special regime"
  • Provide an "attestation of social security coverage" issued by the special regime by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.
Students whose parents are covered by the regime for French nationals living abroad (CFE) must provide an attestation of coverage from the CFE.
20 years old: Born between 01/09/97 and 31/08/98 Your parents are covered by another special regime (Merchant Marine, Autonomous Port of Bordeaux, Théâtre national de l'Opéra, Comédie française, National Assembly) or are international civil servants: You do not join the student social security regime and you do not pay contributions, subject to proper documentation of your situation.

International students

Students coming from a country in the European Economic Area (outside France) + Switzerland Joining student social security and making contributions is not Obligatory if you have CEAM.
  • Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po" and indicate the reason "particular case".
  •  Provide a copy of both sides of your European Health Insurance Card, valid for the entire academic year, by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.
Students of Quebecois or Monegasque nationality or those covered by the Andorran system You do not join the student social security regime and you do not pay contributions, subject to proper documentation of your situation.
  • Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po" and indicate the reason "particular case".

For Quebecois nationals: provide one of the forms SE 401 Q 102 bis, SE 401 Q 106 or SE 401 Q 104, valid for the entire academic year, by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.

For Monegasque nationals: provide the acceptance of responsibility issued by the Monegasque authorities by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.

For students covered by the Andorran system: provide the form SE 130-04, valid for the entire academic year, by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.

Students under 20, born between 01/09/98 and 31/08/2002, coming from a country outside the European Economic Area Joining the student social security regime is Obligatory and Free, between the ages of 16 and 19.   • Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po", indicate the reason "Campus France Scholarship", and choose a reimbursement center (LMDE or SMEREP).
  • Provide a copy of your "scholarship attestation" for the academic year by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.
Others

Students registered at another institution You do not join the student social security regime and you do not pay contributions, subject to proof of payment of contributions at another institution.

  • Provide a copy of social security participation at your other institution and/or proof of contribution payment by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.
Employed students

You do not join the student social security regime and you do not pay contributions, subject to meeting the conditions listed below and providing the required documentation.

Your work contract must cover the entire academic year, without interruption, and you must work at least 600 hours per year or 150 hours per quarter to be exempted from paying contributions.
  • Check the box entitled "I do not pay contributions via Sciences Po" and indicate the reason "employed".
  • Provide a copy of your work contract as well as your three most recent pay stubs or your apprenticeship contract (if you are on an apprenticeship this year) by uploading it during step 5 of the online registration process.
